Sustainability
Our eco commitment
At The Queens, we’re devoted to mitigating our environmental impact and finding ways to build on our sustainability efforts.
From establishing our own, in-house green team to tracking the carbon footprint of our dishes, we’re taking steps to be accountable for our impact today – and to shape a responsible and forward-thinking business for tomorrow.
Sustainability on site
A little more action, please
Actions speak louder than words, which is why we’ve established a team of people on-site to drive our sustainability efforts. Here are just a few of the ways we’re moving towards a more sustainable place to stay in Leeds.
- Refillable toiletries in rooms
- Phasing out gas throughout the hotel
- Carbon footprints on all our menus
- Eradicating single-use plastics

The wider community
Connected, committed
As well as our environmental efforts, we care about our community and the people in it. We prioritise the wellbeing of our stakeholders, actively engaging with the local area through strategic partnerships with charitable trusts.
Our people
Showing we care
We understand that our passionate team are our greatest asset, so we’re committed to providing a secure, supportive place to work. We back this up with initiatives like mental wellbeing support, on-site human resources and comprehensive workplace health and safety measures.
Green Tourism and Green Key
Making it official
We have achieved Gold status in the world’s leading sustainability accreditation Green Tourism, which highlights our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices within the industry. We’re currently working towards the Green Key accreditation which is a standard of excellence in environmental responsibility.
